Est. 2026 · no theme · no roadmap
A burrow for pointless projects.
dormice.ai is where my nonsensical, non-themed, mostly unnecessary side projects curl up and live. Nothing here has a business model. Nothing here connects to anything else. Most of it started at 1 a.m. with the words “how hard could it be.”
And no, it isn’t an AI company. The .ai stands for arguably inessential.
Currently in the burrow
Two residents so far. More are hibernating.
wordhunt
Every 3–8 letter English word, checked against nine domain extensions to see which ones you can still
register. Spoiler: not cat.com.

It also found this domain. It had dormice.ai on its list of available words at
$80 a year, which was not, in hindsight, a business decision.
Dispatch Command
A planning desk for AdHoc Studio’s Dispatch: squad solver, shift planner, ending simulator and a 100% tracker. The game’s success odds turn out to be the overlap of two pentagons, so it does the geometry for you.
dispatch.dormice.aiSomething is hibernating here
Check back in spring. Or don’t. It might not wake up.
Rules of the burrow
- No project has to be useful. Useful is a bonus, not a requirement.
- No project has to be finished. Done is a feeling, not a state.
- Projects may stop without notice. Around here we call that hibernation.
- The theme is that there is no theme. If two projects relate to each other, it was an accident.
Why dormice?
The hazel dormouse spends up to half the year asleep, curled into a tight ball with its tail wrapped over its face. Most of these projects keep similar hours.
And in Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, the Dormouse sleeps through the Mad Hatter’s tea party, waking just long enough to tell a story about three sisters who live at the bottom of a treacle well. That is roughly the editorial standard here.
